THE COLORS OF 2016: BUTTERCUP YELLOW

In almost every country yellow means sunshine, happiness, friendship and warmth. From all the colors of the rainbow, the human eye processes yellow first (this explains why it is used for  road cautionary signs). Yellow is the color most often associated with the deity in many culturess. AND buttercup yellow is one for the colours of Spring/Summer for 2016. What else can we ask for?COLORS-2016So, if you want to be noticed, project confidence, positivity and nonchalance YELLOW is YOUR colour. As you know I am a sucker for fashion trends – as long as they look great on the person wearing them. So don´t just pick any particular tone. You need to make sure it brings out your eyes and best features.  It has to make you FEEL GREAT. So before you wear yellow for the sake of it, get a few different tones and stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself: What yellow am I? For me, my ideal tones are slightly pastel buttercup yellow and  bright yellows. I like to mix them with other pastels or whites to avoid looking like big bird. 😀 (no, really) Yellow is a lovely, fresh spontaneous colour and wearing it feels like summer. What I also love about it is that you can dress it up or down depending on the material of the piece you wear.  Imagine a  yellow satin or silk gown with a hair do and some diamond earrings. YES. It can look lux and elegant, youthful. Now imagine yellow in a more matt material, like cotton or linen. You have the perfect beachwear. Either way it is a light and fun color.  Enjoy it – but do go easy on the sparkles and keep your outfits good quality, because any little detail will stand out 10 times more in this color and unfortunately it can go from classy to tacky in two seconds flat. Scared to use it? Wear it on your lower half or on accessories. 😉
